The Vinayaka Mission's College of Nursing, Karaikal was established in the year 2004, with the B.Sc., (N) course. The annual intake of the programme is 100. The M.Sc., (N) programme was started in the year 2009, with the intake of 20 students and DGNM course was started in the year 2012, with the intake of 50 students. Our college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai and accreted by UGC, NAAC and certified with ISO.
Our college is having adequate infrastructure, laboratory and library facilities to run the programme. All the class rooms are spacious with adequate ventilation, good seating arrangements and Equipped with LCD projectors. We have smart board class room and nursing laboratories required as per the statutory council norms. We have separate computer lab, Computers with internet and Wi-Fi facilities. SWAYAM, DTH channel and CCTV coverage is available in the college premises. College has separate library with latest edition books and Subscribing the National, and International journals. Free Wi-Fi, internet facility, e-journals, e-books; CD's and Video are available in the library. We have efficient, dedicated and well experienced faculty to teach the students. Canteen facility is available in the college camps.
We have 770 bedded Medical College Hospital. Our students are getting their clinical experience in our own parental Hospital which has all specialties. We have our own urban and rural health centers for the community health experience of our students. Separate hostel for boys and girls with all the facilities. The hostel is supervised by the wardens and housekeepers round the clock. Our institution has transportation facilities to pick up and drop the students from in and around Karaikal.
